Want to wear colored lenses for a fresh look or a striking effect? Awesome! But it’s important to use them safely and hygienically. This manual guides you step by step—from washing your hands to checking if the lens is positioned correctly. That way, you ensure both comfort and healthy eyes.
Step 1: Washing your hands
Before touching your lenses, it's essential to wash your hands thoroughly. Follow these steps:
- Use mild, unscented soap and warm water.
- Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, including between your fingers and under your nails.
- Rinse well and dry your hands with a lint-free towel or paper tissue.
Clean hands help prevent infections and keep your lenses clean.
Step 2: Preparing your lenses
Make sure you have a clean lens case and fresh lens solution ready. Gently open the lens container or blister pack. Place the lens on the tip of your index finger (make sure the curved side faces upward — it should look like a smooth bowl).
Step 3: Inserting the lens
With your free hand, gently lift your upper eyelid.- Use the middle finger of the hand holding the lens to pull down your lower eyelid.
- Look straight ahead or slightly upward and gently place the lens on the white of your eye or in the center.
- Blink slowly or look around so the lens can move into the correct position.
- Repeat the process for the other eye.
Step 4: Check & comfort
Check whether the lens is sitting correctly and feels comfortable. If you experience a burning sensation, redness, or blurry vision, remove the lens, rinse it with lens solution, and try again.
